Ensure comfort, mobility, and performance with accurate measurements.
At Howoll, we design outdoor gear tailored for real adventures — from jackets to vests and harnesses. To help your dog get the best fit, please follow the simple measuring guide below.
📏 Before You Begin
-
Use a soft measuring tape.
-
Measure while your dog is standing — this ensures the most accurate results.
-
If your dog normally has a thick or dense coat that is trimmed short, add a little extra to account for coat regrowth.
-
Each dog has a unique body shape. Measuring is the best way to avoid sizing mistakes.
1. Back Length
How to measure:
Measure from the point where the collar naturally sits (base of the neck) to the base of the tail.
Why it matters:
Back length determines jacket and vest coverage — too short won’t keep them warm; too long may restrict movement.
2. Chest Girth
How to measure:
Wrap the tape around the chest in two positions:
-
A. Behind the front legs
-
B. In front of the front legs
Why it matters:
The chest is the widest part of a dog’s body. Accurate chest measurements ensure comfort and prevent the gear from being too tight or slipping.
3. Neck Girth
How to measure:
Measure around the neck where the collar naturally rests.
Why it matters:
Neck size helps ensure jackets and vests sit properly and don’t feel restrictive.

✔ Tips for Best Accuracy
-
Keep the tape snug but not tight.
-
If your dog tends to wiggle, have a second person assist.
-
If your dog is between sizes, choose the larger size for jackets/vests, or ask us for a recommendation.
